Most eSIM problems are solved with two or three settings. Try the steps below in order; most people are back online within the first four.

Quick checklist

  1. Is data roaming on? It must be on for the eSIM line. Details: data roaming guide.
  2. Is the mobile data line correct? The travel eSIM must be selected.
  3. Is the line turned on? Check in Settings that the eSIM line is enabled.
  4. Toggle airplane mode. The phone re-registers on the network.
  5. Restart the phone.
  6. Set network selection to automatic. If it does not connect, try manually selecting the local carrier listed on the plan page.
  7. Check the APN. Some plans need a specific APN; it is in your email or the plan details.
  8. Are you in the right country? The plan works only in covered countries; near a border, your phone may see a neighbouring network.
  9. Has the plan run out? Check your remaining data on the My eSIMs page of your account.
  10. Reset network settings. Use as a last resort; it also deletes saved Wi-Fi passwords. Do not delete the eSIM.

Frequently asked questions

I want to test it at home — why won’t it connect?

Plans for foreign countries work only in the countries they cover. Not connecting at home is normal.

Why is the speed low?

Crowded areas, indoor locations and rural regions reduce speed. Some unlimited plans also slow down after a fair-use threshold.
